𝑹𝒆𝒏𝒂𝒕𝒂 𝑬𝒔𝒕𝒆𝒗𝒂𝒐
Another favorite female OC of mine. She started off as a temporary background character when I was developing Naethanyl’s story but ended up becoming a much more permanent OC of mine.
Renata will always portray herself at her very best, even when she’s hurting on the inside. It takes someone special that she trusts to understand her vulnerabilities and have her show what she considers weakness.
She’s very confident in herself to the point that she comes off rude or mean. I’ve always loved that about her because its a character trait that people dislike about her but she just tells it like it is. She likes the truth over being fake any day.
She is a certified Esthetician, licensed in NYC and is VERY good at her job. She’s working on various certifications so she can do new skin treatments and expand her clientele. Currently she offers various skin treatments for the face and body, extractions, chemical peels, body waxings, threading, microblading and brow services, dermaplaning and lash services.
She’s having a hard time right now mentally and physically but luckily she has Naet to take care of her during the quarantine. She’s getting much needed attention and rest these days.
Thank you for askinggg 💕

This Week’s Need-to-Know Beauty News
Jennifer Lopez Launches 25th Fragrance, Continues to Stun Us All
View this post on Instagram
Today was SOOOO special!!! Big announcement 😏 and my own beautiful pop-up shop for my new fragrance, PROMISE!!! It was so amazing inside! ✨ If you’re in NYC you have to go see it tomorrow before it’s gone! #IPromise #WhatsYourPromise 34 W Little 12th Street today until 6p!!!
A post shared by Jennifer Lopez (@jlo) on Sep 26, 2019 at 8:39pm PDT
A true goddess among humans, Jennifer Lopez continues to elicit dropped jaws in basically every aspect of her life—exhibit A: her epic Versace runway moment at Milan Fashion Week. And while everything about her physical being is unearthly, at 50, she’s equally as impressive on the career side of things. Not only is there ample Oscar buzz around her role in Hustlers, but on the business side, JLo’s most recent perfume launch will mark her 25th to date. Promise is the latest addition to Lopez’s perfume empire, which has generated $2 billion in sales to date, reports WWD. “There have been so many moments in my life where I have made promises to myself — to give my all, do my best, be true to myself, never give up,” Lopez told WWD. “No matter what obstacles stood in my way, I stayed true to my promises, and I believe they helped shaped who I am and where I am today. This fragrance embodies my promises and aims to inspire every woman who has ever doubted herself and struggled along the way.” We are not worthy.
Hydrafacials Are All the Rage, Says Yelp’s 2019 Trend Report
Photography courtesy of Yelp
You may not usually turn to Yelp for beauty advice—where to find the best pho within a 3-mile radius? That’s more like it—but the user-generated review site happens to be sitting on a mountain of beauty-related data, which they’ve put to use in a recent report. To celebrate the site’s 15th anniversary, Yelp launched a deep dive into some of the site’s most notable trends, with whole section devoted to the beauty services industry. Along with the hydrafacial—essentially a less abrasive version of microdermabrasion, whereby impurities are suctioned out of the skin—the treatments and services on the uptick in 2019 included microneedling and dermaplaning, while the Brazilian wax, keratin and lash extensions all took a dive in popularity. Read the full report here.
Ezra Miller Attends PFW Sporting Another Noteworthy Makeup Look
View this post on Instagram
See AMENDMENT below to my comment “Why did I write SLUT!! I’ll let you figure it out … let’s just say it suited our mood at the time 😉 Last night with #ezramiller at @ysl #lisahoughtonmakeup…” Amendment Ezra is an amazing artist. I feel I really need to own up to the fact that the words that i wrote earlier do not correctly represent the way this look developed. I want to take this opportunity to represent more honestly that when I walked into the room and into this collaboration, Ezra already very much held this vision and “I want you to write the word slut on my cheek” was literally his opening statement when asked about his desires for the look. I also have come to understand that this was not a spontaneous decision for Ezra based on a mood as I inaccurately depicted it to be, but rather a very intentional statement of political, spiritual and personal significance for Ezra. I feel that was portrayed inaccurately in the words that i posted earlier. This look and the use of the word “Slut” was something that Ezra felt very strongly about and was done to communicate his feelings and exact his vision. I want to sincerely apologise to Ezra et al if my words have caused any confusion.
A post shared by Lisa Houghton 💄 Makeup Artist (@lisahoughton) on Sep 25, 2019 at 4:05am PDT
Ezra Miller continues to cement his status as a one-to-watch where makeup is concerned. This week, the actor—best known for his roles in We Need to Talk About Kevin, The Perks of Being a Wallflower and Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them—attended the Saint Laurent show at Paris Fashion Week wearing red lipstick, pink eyeshadow from lash to brow and the words “slut” written across his cheek. “This was not a spontaneous decision for Ezra based on a mood as I inaccurately depicted it to be, but rather a very intentional statement of political, spiritual and personal significance for Ezra,” makeup artist Lisa Houghton wrote on an Instagram post, following some apparent confusion regarding the genesis of the idea. ‘This look and the use of the word ‘Slut’ was something that Ezra felt very strongly about and was done to communicate his feelings and exact his vision.”
Darren Criss is Launching a Unisex Skincare Line

So I joined Matt and Madison to build The Motley back in 2013. I’m amped about our latest endeavor, @onekind.us which launches on 10/1. Onekind is skincare for all – without the bullshit ingredients or price. Head over and give them a follow if you wanna know more. The way I see it: skin is skin and we only get one to live in so we might as well take care of it! #facesofonekind #moustachenotincluded
A post shared by Darren Criss (@darrencriss) on Sep 19, 2019 at 4:16pm PDT
Calling all Gleeks: there’s something new to get excited over this week, and it isn’t the release of the full series on Netflix Canada. Along with his partners (siblings Madison and Matthew Ruggieri) Darren Criss is putting his talent into a new venture—one which doesn’t require any singing or dancing. That is, a unisex skincare line dubbed OneKind. “There is certainly a disparity between the popularity and more obvious nature of women’s beauty products,” the Emmy-winning actor told The Hollywood Reporter. “It’s historically not as much of a male-oriented thing. We were trying to level that playing field a little bit.” OneKind is set to launch on October 1, 2019.

How I Got Rid of Melasma
I have been wanting to do a post on this because 1. melasma sucks and 2. because I really thought mine would never go away and mine is pretty much all gone now and I could cry I am so happy. So I wanted to share how I got rid of mine! If you don’t know what melasma is, it is also sometimes called “pregnancy mask” they are dark spots or patches that show up on your face. Usually during pregnancy. For me I got mine when I was pregnant with Atticus .. everyones is different and some people get it on their forehead, under their eyes, above their top lip. I got big dark patches under my eyes! I was so self-conscience about it. I felt so ugly with them and didn’t ever want to go out without make up on. The sucky thing about it is that anything that can help with the dark spots, you can’t do while nursing or pregnant. I nursed A for 15 months and got pregnant when he was 6 months and then I nursed Ro for 7 months. So I had to just live with it for a while. There were a few things I tried – mostly serums and they did help to lighten it. These three were SkinCeuticals Pigment Corrector, Estée Lauder Dark Spot Serum, and Caudalie Vinoperfect Serum. The last two my doctor said were safe during nursing actually but ask your own doctor if you want to be safe. When I moved back to Arizona this summer I started seeing an aesthetician (Rachel)… she was the first one to really give me “new advice”.. it felt like everyone else would just say, “hmm yeah dark spots are tricky, they often don’t ever leave..” they would recommend a few products and I never saw a change and I was like okay well there is that. Rachel started me on a good plan. We didn’t do any brighteners – below is what Rachel (my aesthetician has me doing….
Hydrafacials! This was the first thing we started doing and right away I noticed differences not just in my dark spots but in my whole face. A hydrafacial is like a really deep clean for your face .. it extracts impurities and removes dead skin cells. My face always feels SO dewy and bright after. I have been getting these about every month and a half/two months. They can be pricey depending on where you go.. in bigger cities it is going to cost more (I really don’t want to know what it costs in LA and NYC eek) but ask your local aesthetician and make sure you go to someone legit who knows what they are doing! But I promise you will be loving on your skin with these. *I also have her extract blackheads when she does this!
Using a retinol cream every night! Rachel recommended I use this one because it doesn’t make your skin dry and flaky (I have never been dry or flaky and I use it every night. But I started off using it every other.) It has high concentration of glycolic acid in it and I am convinced this is one of the products that helped the most! I have talked about retinol creams a few times on here and they are super important for skincare but you can’t use them pregnant or nursing. (Here is a link to buy it.)
Vitamin C Serum – this is the other product Rachel recommended and I use this before my retinol cream every night. I have been using this one, by the same brand Skin Better and I love that it is a thin layer that absorbs really nicely. I also use this in the mornings!! (Here is a link to buy it.)
A good exfoliator! Okay she had me get this scrub and holy cowwww it is the best face scrub you will ever use ever ever ever! I can’t even explain it but I will try – the texture of it is so even and your skin is sooo smooth after. Using this 2-3 times a day really helped with the dark spots and also making my pores smaller!
Dermaplaning – I have done this twice in the last 5 months but doing this a few times a year can also really help! It is a form of exfoliation using a scalpel.. I showed this on insta stories when I have gotten it done! It takes off any peach fuzz as well as any dead skin. The day right after my skin has some bumps because it is such fresh skin but after a couple days you will be in heaven with your skin!
Okay so these are things I have been doing for my skin! I do random face masks and try different creams and serums for fun but these are the things I have been doing insanely regularly and what I think has made my melasma go away. Being happy with your skin feels so good and I know it sounds cheesy but now I will go to the store or out and about without make up and I feel so freeee! I know I could have before and that was on me for feeling self conscience and I always thought it was worse in my head but I just didn’t feel good make up free so I never did.
I hope this helps!!!! Leave any other questions you have in the comments and I will respond throughout the week and I will also ask Rachel about any other questions you guys have (since she is the expert here haha)

Wedding Prep: Bridal Beauty Bootcamp
With my wedding just about one month away (!!!),  planning is quickly taking over every spare second I have.  Even if you self-proclaim yourself a “chill bride,” there is simply a lot to get done!  In between chasing people for RSVP cards and deciding on final details, I have been busy keeping my beauty routine in major check in order to feel like the best version of myself for my walk down the aisle. Let me tell you, for any beauty obsessed gal this is no small feat!
While everyone has different things they will do to prepare, here is the beauty timeline I have followed so far.  If you feel I missed anything, please let me know in the comments below!
6 Months
Supplements: A few months ago, I started popping a probiotic and a hair vitamin every AM.  I feel that the former helps keep my skin clear while also keeping my tummy flat and happy, and the latter just seems to make nails and hair stronger and healthier.
Lash and brow serum: Religious application of Neulash to my lashline has made my lashes longer and stronger, meaning lash extensions won’t be as damaging.  I have also been applying Revitabrow every night to fill in a few sparse spots.
Laser Hair Removal: Zapping my underarm hair at Spruce & Bond means I won’t have to worry about shaving, despite my sleeveless gown – a no brainer.
Establish a workout routine: It takes a bit of time to make any major changes, but if you get into a solid  workout routine early enough in the planning process you’ll be in tip top shape by the time the big day rolls around.  Even better, those endorphins are seriously helpful when it comes to dealing with wedding stress.
3 Months
Body Care: At the beginning of the summer, I went into a bit of panic mode about my arms and shoulders.  While I’m religious about skin care for my face, I’ve been ignoring dryness and roughness below the neck.  To get this area HD-photograph ready, I have started dry brushing  every morning.  Two or three times a week, I swipe these Dr. Dennis Gross Peel Pads across my chest, upper arms, and shoulders.
Regular Facials: For lingering skin issues such as dullness and congestion, regular facials will help get your visage into shape with plenty of time to spare.
Dermatologist Visit: I didn’t want to take any risks with hormonal acne the month of my wedding, so I met with my dermatologist to devise a plan.  She put me on a prescription lotion that is the first I’ve ever wanted to use repeatedly, and we also tested out a cortisone injection just in case a monster shows up on my jaw next month.
Teeth Whitening: I have sensitive teeth that couldn’t deal with professional laser whitening a few years ago, but I know many people swear by it.  Personally, I’ll be relying on trusty Crest Whitestrips to remove coffee and red wine stains.
1 Month
Haircut: I want my hair to be long but not unruly on my wedding day, so I booked my final cut one month out to allow for some growth.  I kept the layers longer than usual as I plan to wear my hair up, and this makes it a bit easier.
2 Weeks
Final hair color: This is a personal choice depending on how “lived-in” you prefer your color to look.  I think mine looks best when it has a bit of time to settle, but brighter blonds may prefer to get color the week of.
Dermaplaning Facial: Scheduling a dermaplaning facial will allow for truly flawless makeup application.  Even better, the glow it imparts is major.
1 Week
Brows: To make sure any redness or irritation from tweezing has ample time to heal, I’ll be getting my brows shaped and tinted seven days before.
Lash Extensions: Envious Lashes is my go-to in NYC for lash extensions.  Since I want to go somewhere I know instead of someplace new at my wedding destination, I’ll be going a week before.  They are an absolute must to make your lashes appear lush and voluminous in photos, and you won’t have to think twice about smudging if you cry your eyes out. First-timers, don’t miss this post.
2 Days
Spray tan: I have such mixed feelings about spray tans.  While I’ve definitely embraced my paleness in my late twenties, I also don’t want to appear washed out in photos.  I tested out a new organic spray tan and asked for the lightest application possible and to skip my face – this imparted a perfect subtle glow that I plan to recreate for the actual event.
1 Day
Manicure/Pedicure: Obviously.  I normally avoid it, but will be doing a gel manicure to prevent any mishaps, and might even do a light blue on my toes for “something blue”!
Day-of
Makeup prep: Before I get my hair and makeup done, I plan to sip coffee in my bathrobe with Skyn Iceland Eye Gels and a brightening Estee Lauder Sheet Mask.  If my face is a bit puffy from overindulging at the rehearsal dinner, it’ll be Nurse Jamie Uplift to the rescue.
